1. Ebates
It’s incredible how simple this one is and I don’t know why more people aren’t using it.
If you’re like any normal person, you shop online. Ebates can find you discounts on most websites AND give you money back.
They send you a check in the mail!
So here is how you get started. Go to Ebates
Account Set-Up
Then choose which way you want to set up an account. Through Facebook is probably the easiest for most.
And now you’re set! Let’s start shopping.
How to Shop
Now that you’ve got your account, let’s start earning some money from our shopping.
Say you want to buy something from Nike.
Go the home page of Ebates and search for ‘Nike’ in the top bar:
A page will come up showing how much cash back you’ll get from your purchase.
On top of that, it’ll also show you coupons and discounts that are available.
In this case, you’d be getting 12% cash back on your purchase!
Click on the ‘Shop Now’ button and you’ll be directed straight to the Nike.com store.
That’s it. Now, if you buy a $100 pair of shoes, Ebates will send you a $12 check.
I also highly recommend installing the Chrome Ebates extension. This way you don’t always have to go to the Ebates home page.
When you’re on a shopping site, a little button will pop up asking you to activate cash back.
Click on it and you’re set! So simple.
Now, part of achieving financial freedom means being smart with your spending. Don’t go spending more through Ebates just to earn a little cash back. That is definitely not smart.
However, we all have things we need to buy. In those instances, I’d highly recommend going through Ebates.
2. Swagbucks
Swagbucks is similar to an Ebates, but you earn money from searches, watching videos, and answering surveys.
All things that you’re already doing online.
Account Set-Up
Go to Swagbucks and sign-up for free on the home page.
After signing up, Swagbucks will offer you a bunch of options to earn more points.
The easiest way to guarantee you’ll earn as much as possible is by setting your default search engine to Swagbucks.
Set your default search engine
If you use Chrome, right click in the browse address bar and choose Edit Search Engines…
Under Other Search Engines scroll down to Swagbucks and hover over. On the right side you’ll see a button that says Make Default. Click it.
Then click done and you’re set.
On the left side of the Swagbucks home screen, you’ll also see all the other opportunities to earn.
The more Swagbucks you earn, the more money you get. One thing with Swagbucks is that they don’t send you a check like Ebates.
You’ll exchange your Swagbucks for a PayPal gift card which can be redeemed for money.
3. Chase Freedom Unlimited
While this won’t exactly start earning you money tomorrow, it is, flat out, the easiest way to earn passive income.
With this credit card, you’ll earn 1.5% cash back on every purchase. While it may not sound like a lot, every little bit counts when building an income snowball.
Plus, you’ll get a $150 bonus just for signing up!
This passive income stream takes discipline, though. You have to pay off your credit card bill, in full, every month. If you don’t, the interest will wipe away any of the money you may have earned.
Apply for the Chase Freedom Unlimited
Go to the Chase Freedom Unlimited home page. Click on Apply Now.
Fill in all the information on the application.
If your credit score is good and you meet all the Chase requirements, you’ll be seeing a new credit card in the mail.
Start using that card for every purchase. The more purchases made with your Freedom Unlimited card, the more money you’ll earn.
Only the beginning…
Earning income only helps you achieve financial freedom when it’s applied to your income snowball.
Take those earnings and funnel them into your snowball. You do this by investing in index funds through a service like Betterment or by investing in dividend paying stocks.
